Monogram

CBS Monogram was adopted by the Calcutta Christian Schools Society (the founder body of CBS) on 24th November, 1897, and is rich in heraldry.

History

THE ORIGIN of the Calcutta Boys' School is closely linked with the establishment of the Methodist Episcopal Church (now the MCI) in India. On January 9th,1873.

House System

The house system was inaugurated in 1916. The names of the houses were THOBURN (Red), LAIDLAW (Green), WARNE (Light Blue) and PRITCHARD (Dark Blue).

We honor outstanding achievements in academics and extracurricular activities through various awards.

Calcutta Boys' School Sonarpur Campus

Calcutta Boys' School, Sonarpur Rajpur Sonarpur, is a Middle School (VI-VIII). The School is a Boys Day School, with classes from Playgroup to VIII. It is an English Medium school. The school is located in Sonarpur area of Rajpur Sonarpur, West Bengal. Calcutta Boy's School, Sonarpur was established in 1897.

The Calcutta Boys' School Monogram was adopted by the Calcutta Christian Schools Society (the founder body of Calcutta Boys' School) on 24th November, 1897, and is rich in heraldry.

The Shield gules (red in colour), in escutcheon (having a smaller shield in the centre of the primary shield) is charged with two cross pattée and two elephant heads and an agent (silver) cross of St. George, patron saint of education. The cross pattée represent blessings. The Elephant symbolise strength and wit and are also symbolic of our motherland India.

Principal's Message !

Dear Students, Colleagues & Members of the CBS fraternity! Welcome to the New Academic year 2024-25. Safely through another year, God has brought us on our way. With grateful hearts we proclaim, "He has done all things well! (St. Mark 7:37)."

147 years and counting, CBS has endeavoured to imbue respect, tolerance, resilience and competence in her sons, stimulating them to augment their skills and finally emerge strong-both academically and spiritually. It is here in school that they learn to express, create, explore, inspire, innovate and above all inculcate a concern for others blended with a desire to do good in this world, the mark of a "CBSite at heart" and a true manifestation of "Dei Mundus Dei."

Dear Students, being part of this rich heritage and nurture of CBS, you are expected to honour, maintain and uphold her traditions, values and high academic and moral standards which render virtues like respect, courtesy (in words and deed), good manners and fair play, amalgamated with perseverance in studies ipso facto obligation for all her students.
