HOUSE SYSTEM:

The HOUSE SYSTEM was introduced at CBS in 1916 with the aim to stimulate virtues and attributes of true citizenship such as: responsibility, honesty and acceptance. It encourages collaboration, teamwork and healthy competition, fostering esprit-de-corps and camaraderie amongst our students.

In the names of the houses, CBS commemorates the contribution of Four men to whom we believe the most is due:

THOBURN (Red)
Bishop J. M. Thoburn

Founder of CBS

LAIDLAW (Green)
Sir Robert Laidlaw KT

A generous benefactor & well-wishe

WARNE (Gold)
Bishop F. W. Warne

His guidance & advice as Chairman, kept CBS alive in the early years.

HENDERSON (Blue)
Rev. George S. Henderson

Founder of Chaplain & a valued member of CBS Managing Committee

Each student is allotted a particular House to which he belongs and represents in all the ‘inter-house competitions.  All co-curricular activities (sports, academic and cultural) are organized on “Inter-House” basis, motivating students to compete with one another. This builds a foundation of discipline and loyalty to their own House.

The success of a House depends upon the achievements of its members who compete objectively, realizing that the responsibility is on each and every member, both as individual and as a team.

A dedicated team of teachers, led by the House Master & House Mistress, guide the students.
